No Exercise Often Increases Risk of More Colorado Springs Pain & Disease Progression

Do something. Walk. Stretch. Move. Patients who suffer with pain benefit when they do something. A lack of exercise is a risk for worsening pain, both pain in the body and pain in the mind in the form of depression. The Chiropractic TRUhealthDR takes care of many Colorado Springs back pain patients in pain who also suffer with depression. The Chiropractic TRUhealthDR also understands that when our Colorado Springs chiropractic patients do something, they improve in body and mind.

NO EXERCISE RAISES RISK OF STENOSIS PROGRESSION

Spinal stenosis is a familiar diagnosis. It is the reduction of the spinal canal area because of degeneration. A new study revealed that risk of spinal stenosis progression is higher for those who had spondylolisthesis, had pain (in leg and/or back) when walking, and more severe stenosis. The lack of therapeutic exercise was also discovered to a risk factor for the advancement of spinal stenosis. (1) Back pain sufferers like those with spinal stenosis and spondylolisthesis benefit from exercise! The Chiropractic TRUhealthDR helps each of our chiropractic patients find what exercise fits them.

EXERCISE ENHANCES FUNCTION

Nonspecific low back pain sufferers enhanced their functional disability status more with stabilization and/or McKenzie exercises than with conventional exercise programs. (2) Notice though that exercise helped, conventional or not!

EXERCISE IMPROVES DEPRESSION

For many back pain sufferers with specific or non-specific back pain, chronic or not, may well describe themselves as a little blue when their back pain hangs around a while. It’s not unusual. Again, exercise to the rescue! Another study reported that exercise (low dose or moderate-dose strength and conditioning) helped decrease depressive symptoms in adults with chronic low back pain. Blending exercise and manual therapy was a bonus! (3) The Chiropractic TRUhealthDR brings in as many positive approaches to back pain relief as possible to help our Colorado Springs back pain patients! The Cox® Technic System of Spine Pain Management is one of those approaches.
